I am a Whole New Mommy: Well sort of.........
Tonight I am a Whole New Mommy, well I feel like one anyways. You see I got to experience something that is so rare to me that I almost thought I was dreaming today. I got to have a full day of Stress Free Living and some VERY much needed "ME TIME"!
Last night about 8 pm I got a phone call that changed our current financial troubles. We actually got our tax refund this year and no longer have a dept. You have no idea what a relief this is to know that we are officially dept free with the government. Our refund was enough to pay almost all of our bills for the month, buy diapers and wipes for a month, buy a few much needed household essentials, give the Hubby and I a mini shopping spree each, and take my parents out to dinner, and we have some left over.
Today was an emotional day for me, we have been in a rough place financially for the last few months, and have been living penny to penny since the beginning of the new year. 2010 has not been a good year to us at all, but I have faith that things are going to change. The hubby and I have both been looking for new jobs, and are moving next month out of our house and into a much cheaper apartment that will save us money and stress. I feel like things are finally starting to look up.
Today we got up early and took a trip to Walmart first thing this morning. We left so early that we did not even eat breakfast, so we decided to dollar menu it at the McDonald's in Walmart and all enjoyed breakfast out. Miss Diva really enjoyed it, and I felt just a little cheap but it made me happy. Miss Diva got to get some new shoes and a few super cute outfits that I found on clearance for like $2 each! I felt like such a frugalista with that find!!! Then we headed to Babies R US and bought diapers and wipes, we bulked up and bought at least a months worth if not more. Then it was off to Target for a very disappointing trip.
Usually my trips to Target are exciting and wonderful, but other than finding a really good deal on sodas and juice for Miss Diva I really did not find anything that just screamed BUY ME NOW! Which is rare for me because, I LOVE TARGET SO MUCH! Oh well maybe I will have better luck next time!
The hubby and I each got to have a mini shopping spree. He spent his money on an XBox 360 game and a renewal of his XBox Live subscription. Me, I took my happy coupon finding self to Old Navy and bought a few items at 10% off with my coupon and had a GREAT time! The hubby stayed home with Miss Diva while she napped and I shopped ALONE. This is so rare for me that I kept having to ask myself if I was dreaming or was I really out shopping FOR MYSELF, ALONE? I was afraid if it was a dream I would wake up REALLY disappointed!
MY shopping trip found me in a new smaller size jeans. I was on the hunt for capri pants and found the perfect pair of dark blue jean capri's that I fell IN LOVE with. I have lost a lot of weight recently and all my jeans and capri's are super big on me and I did not know what size to get so I took a bunch of sizes that I thought I was into the dressing room only to find out they were all too big. So in the end I settled on a size smaller, which is my actual pre-baby jeans size. And what excites me most is : A they are regular size and not W for women sizes and B they are Old Navy size smaller which is HUGE for me because usually when I buy Old Navy jeans I have to buy 2 sizes bigger for them to fit. So This all makes me a happy happy happy mommy!!!
After my shopping trip I still had money left over so I drove myself to my favorite nail salon and got my happy mommy self a pedicure. OMG did that feel AMAZING! I have not had a pedicure in 6 months and this just made my day even better!!!
My parents have been super helpful and supportive of the Hubby and I over the last few months, both financially and emotionally and just wonderful to us. So we decided to take them out to dinner tonight and treat them to a wonderful meal of Yummy Mexican Food. It was a fun time had by all and by the end of the meal everyone was STUFFED and happy!
I have just felt this wonderful sigh of relief today. You have no idea. I feel like a Whole New Mommy tonight and it feels GREAT! I feel like nothing could ruin this wonderful day. It was fun spending the day with the hubby and Miss Diva and dinner with our family. Dropping a jeans size makes things even better!
